The SFG™ planning meeting is the first major meeting that the SFG™ team has to prepare for the upcoming work. All of the development team members as well as the Product Owner/Functional Team Lead should be in attendance.
This meeting is structured and the purpose of this meeting is to first be sure that everyone is aligned in their understanding of the work to be developed. The Product Owner leads the discussion about each of the user stories and the development team creates the behavioral use cases or user stories depending on how advanced they are with BDD/TDD. Also at this time the development team creates any non-functional user story requirements that they will need as well as creating tasks for each of the stories.
While all of this is going on, the DevOps/advanced testers are working on their strategy planning for how they will enable and automate the workflow for the SFG™ as well as to start preparing for the end of development integration. By the time the team has completed the planning meeting, everyone should be confident about what the work entails, as well as be able to estimate how long it will take them to complete. It is at this point where the team submits their estimates so that the analytics can be enabled.
