For years, larger companies have been struggling with implementing Agile for larger development efforts. Scaled Agile Academy has stepped in to solve this problem with an industry proven way to effectively scale Agile methodology for development requiring more than 50 people. The SAFe framework is evolved continuously and is likely to remain one of the standard frameworks for scaled agile for many years. Agilest is experienced with and a proponent of scaling Agile. We offer a number of different SAFe certifications from the Scaled Agile Academy. The certifications that we offer are designed to both prepare teams at companies that are embarking on an effort to scale teams for continuous delivery as well as capacity management. Additionally, the SAFe training modules that we deliver lead to function specific certifications that serve as a credential.
The Scaled Agile Framework certifications that we offer are the Advanced Scrum Master (6.0) certification training, the Leading SAFe® (6.0) SA certification training, the SAFe® (6.0) Product Manager/Product Owner SPMPO certification, and the SAFe® (6.0) for Teams certification training for development teams.
SAFe (6.0) Advanced Scrum Master
The SAFe (6.0) Advanced Scrum Master is designed to advance Scrum Masters with an understanding of how to use scaling for larger enterprise projects. The training goes deeper than Scrum and also provides an overview of Kanban, and the other practices needed for large-scale development.
Leading SAFe® (6.0) SA
The Leading SAFe 5 SA certification training is designed for people leading a SAFe implementation. This training is intended to help managers and other team leaders structure and lead a SAFe release train.
SAFe® (6.0) Product Owner/Product Manager
The SAFe (6.0) PO/PM training is designed to provide product owners and product managers with the knowledge that they need to support the teams in a scaled agile environment.
SAFe® (6.0) for Teams
The SAFe for Teams training is designed to provide team developers and testers an understanding of their role in a scaled agile development effort. The SAFe for Teams training also provides an SP, SAFe Practitioner certification.
Role Specific Training
The Scaled Agile Academy® believes that Agile team members should be provided with the training specific to their role, and we agree completely. There is an all too common practice of getting everyone certified with the same Scrum Master certification, and that is a problem. The practice of giving everyone Scrum Master training leaves the teams unprepared to function effectively. The Scrum Master, Product Owner, and Development team members all have different roles that should be reflected in the training. It is tough enough for new teams to get started with a new methodology, but it is even more difficult when the product owner and the development team members need to guess what they are supposed to do in their role. A good coach can help make up for the training omissions, but the team will get to a performing stage much more quickly when properly trained.
Recommended Prerequisites
If the team members that you are planning to have attend a scaling class have not had basic training like a CSM, please consider having them attend the Agilest® Adaptive Agile™ Scrum Master (AASM™) certification training, the Adaptive Agile™ Product Owner (AAPO™) certification training, or the Adaptive Agile™ DevOps Engineer (AADE™) certification training. The training that they attend should be based on the role that they will be filling on the scrum team.
The SAFe training offerings are not beginning sessions. There is an expectation that the SAFe certification attendees have other Agile certifications and that they have a few years of experience with Agile. At a minimum, the team members should, at least, attend role specific training before the SAFe training. It is not as good as having a few years of Agile experience before attending the SAFe training, but it is much better than going in as a complete newbie.
Agilest® offers financially attractive packages so that attendees can achieve multiple certifications at a package price. The packages are role specific and will help prepare the attendees for the demands of fast paced Agile development.
